Yesterday’s verdict of Derek Chauvin was good news, but there’s still so much work to be done.
People of color still face so many barriers; even in the tech world, which we like to think is a meritocracy.
They face a lack of representation in upper management and products that simply aren’t designed for them.
There’s a difference between a product that is “made for everyone” and a product that specifically designs for underserved communities, by bringing them into the development process.
One way to remove those barriers is through Inclusive Design. Today’s episode feature’s Sabrina Mehrally, a designer who’s been focusing on people at the margins for years.
Sabrina’s done some groundbreaking work focusing on how to make the tech world more inclusive through design and hiring. I think it’s a valuable listen for everyone in the tech space!
